Today I recorded the dialogue for the monsters inc clip I used 2 of my housemates and a friend for the voices but unfortunately they were all too shy to have their pictures taken for this blog. We aim to edit their voices in order for them too sound more interesting and cartoony, the voice of Sully in particular we wish to change the pitch of to make it much deeper. I Ryan will now carry out the finishing touches of the editing such as the levels and modifying the dialogue.

Today I continued to edit the soundtrack adding in the sounds collected at Primark. I utilised the effect tools in premier pro that I have never used before such as the pitch change and bass boost to modify some of the sounds that we have collected to make them more appropriate. I also found 2 music tracks to use at the beginning and end of the clip. I listened to the soundtrack from finding Nemo to give me some inspiration as to how Disney compose their soundtracks. I found an interesting Samba instrumental on youtube to use at the beginning of the clip and I thought that this fitted in well with the theme of the film as Monsters Inc. is a fun comedy film. Next we plan to record the dialogue and put it in.

We went to Primark to record some machinery and ambient noises and there were many interesting sounds that we are going to use such as the sound of the escalator which we thought we could use as background noise and the beeps of the till buttons which we thought would make good feedback for the card swipe machines used in the clip.

Today we started editing the foley sounds to fit in time to our film clip we had a play with the levels and speed of some of the sounds to give them the desired effect. we ran through the clip to see if there were any sounds missing and wrote them down we are looking to go to Primark where Ryan works and get some of the sounds of the machines and technology there to use in our clip.
